Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Penn State University, I headed for warmer weather and moved to South Florida after college. I had no idea at the time how it would change my life – and my eternity!
I was raised Catholic but really lacked much understanding and personal relationship with the Lord. I came to Christ in 1998 and began attending Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, which had a huge impact on my spiritual growth. God began changing my heart and I felt a pull to change career directions and starting working with teens at Youth for Christ in Palm Beach County. I then attended Calvary Chapel Jupiter and started to serve in Children’s Ministry – another decision I didn’t know would change my life! There I met my husband, Gary, who was the Elementary Children’s Ministry Leader.
After we got married, we sensed a calling to relocate to the Carolinas, so we bought a travel-trailer and started out, not knowing where we would land. We ended up in the Charlotte area and, while attending a local Calvary Chapel, God began to speak to Gary about planting a Calvary Chapel in Fort Mill. I admit, it seemed scary at first, but God showed me that He wanted us to step out in faith and that He would use my organizational abilities and ministry experience to help serve my husband and the calling that the Lord had on him.
Now I have the privilege of ministering in many different ways in the church. In addition to using my love of organizing, God has also called me to oversee Children’s Ministry for Infants through Pre-K. I love teaching these sweet kids how much Jesus loves them!
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
